Overview

FMify is developed by Baldwin Data Works Inc. ("we", "us"). FMify does not require an account and does not operate its own backend for your listening activity. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

Baldwin Data Works Inc. does not collect, receive, store, or have access to your listening history, ratings, favourites, location, or any other activity inside FMify. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind inside the app.

How Your Data Is Used

Music playback. FMify streams from Jamendo and Audiomack, sending only the station query (a genre or mood term, e.g. "pop" or "afrobeats") needed to fetch tracks. Playback requests go directly from your device to those services — never through any server we operate. Each is governed by its own provider's privacy policy.

Location, for weather and local news only. FMify only requests your location the moment you turn on a narration category that actually needs it ("Today's Weather," "This Week's Weather," or "Local News") — never at launch, and never for anything else. That location is used to fetch a forecast from Apple's WeatherKit and a locality name for a local news search; FMify itself does not store or transmit your location anywhere beyond those immediate lookups.

Weather. Forecasts are fetched from Apple's WeatherKit using the location above. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles this request.

News. Headlines are fetched from NewsAPI.org, using a search term (a city/region name for local news, or a general-interest category for global news) — no other personal data is sent. See NewsAPI.org's privacy policy.

Spoken narration. Track intros, weather, and news are spoken live through Apple's on-device Speech Synthesizer. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted for this purpose.

Data Stored On Your Device

FMify stores your station history, track ratings/favourites, and narration preferences locally on your device, using iOS's standard app storage. Nothing is transmitted to or stored by Baldwin Data Works Inc.

Third-Party Services

• Jamendo & Audiomack — music catalog search and streaming.
• Apple WeatherKit — weather forecasts, only when a location-aware narration category is enabled.
• NewsAPI.org — news headlines, only when a news narration category is enabled.
• Apple Speech Synthesizer (on-device) — spoken narration.

Each is governed by its own provider's privacy policy, linked above where available.

Children's Privacy

FMify is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
